CBD Isolates vs. Full-Spectrum CBD Oil 

A 2020 study from Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings mentioned that full-spectrum CBD oil utilizes all extracts of cannabis plants, including CBD, flavonoids, terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids(1). 

Terpenes refer to the components of essential oils responsible for cannabis’ aroma(2). Meanwhile, flavonoids are active compounds in cannabis with antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory potentials(3). 

Full-spectrum CBD oil also has less than 0.3% THC concentration(4). 

On the other hand, CBD isolates only contain pure cannabidiol(5). This particular CBD variant undergoes an extraction and refinement process that removes other cannabis compounds, leaving behind cannabidiol in its purest form.

The Frontiers in Plant Science study hypothesized that the entourage effect in full-spectrum hemp extracts may produce better therapeutic benefits than pure cannabidiol(6). 

The entourage effect is a concept wherein the biologically active compounds of cannabis work better together instead of taking each one separately. 

Lab Testing 

C4 Labs in Scottsdale, Arizona, tested all the products of Whauser CBD. The third-party lab created the report on September 29, 2020, and stated that the 500mg tincture offered by Whauser CBD contained 29.780mg/g of CBD. Meanwhile, its THC concentration was less than the limit of quantification (<LOQ). 

However, it is worth noting that the COA’s expiration date was on September 29, 2021. Hence, the company must provide its customers with up-to-date lab reports and COAs to ensure its products’ efficacy, safety, and accuracy of potency.
