Dr. Abraham Benavides, MD

Abraham is a resident Family Physician, cannabis consultant, CBD author, and pioneer in advancing cannabis medical education. He is an alum and full-tuition merit scholar of the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Currently, he is doing Family Medicine residency training at Swedish Family Medicine — First Hill in Seattle, WA.

In 2016, Abraham started the Cannabis as Medicine Interest Group — the first of its kind at a US medical school. CANMIG provides GW doctors-in-training with expert teachings from renowned cannabis scientists and clinicians. After graduation, he moved to Colorado for a year and has since been medically reviewing and authoring CBD and cannabis articles with clients around the world.

Abraham loves to read and write about the latest in cannabis and CBD research. He enjoys sharing his expertise with colleagues and patients alike. He enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping with his wife and adventurous pug. They also enjoy visiting his family in Costa Rica and San Diego, and going snorkeling on the beach.
